I’m Danan. I run businesses for a living, but I keep score with miles. Some of these trips were planned for years. Some were decided the night before. All of them earned a spot in the log.
What I love is the part that doesn’t fit in a spreadsheet: a dirt road that turns into a better one, a campsite you weren’t sure you’d reach, a country you only meant to pass through. Two wheels, four wheels, or a fourteen-hour flight, the trip itself is the point. This site is where I keep track of it, and hopefully talk you into going too.
The Rigs
Every adventure needs something to get you there and back. Over the years a couple of rigs have done the heavy lifting.
- 2007 Land Rover Discovery — the one that started a lot of this. Built for getting off the pavement and finding out what’s past the next ridge.
- 2016 Toyota Tundra CrewMax — the workhorse. Beach runs, overland trails, and hauling everything a campsite needs.
