I’m Danan. I run businesses for a living, but I keep score with miles. Some of these trips were planned for years. Some were decided the night before. All of them earned a spot in the log.

What I love is the part that doesn’t fit in a spreadsheet: a dirt road that turns into a better one, a campsite you weren’t sure you’d reach, a country you only meant to pass through. Two wheels, four wheels, or a fourteen-hour flight, the trip itself is the point. This site is where I keep track of it, and hopefully talk you into going too.

The Overland Community

Trails are better with a crew. I’m a founding member of the Sunshine State Off-Road Alliance. Over at Overland Bound, I’m an investor, member number 1358, and a founding member of the Ambassador Program.

The Rigs

Every adventure needs something to get you there and back. These two do the heavy lifting right now.

• 2025 Toyota Tundra CrewMax 1794 — the current build. Iron Man 4×4 3-inch lift, 37-inch Toyo tires on Method wheels, a triple-hoop front bumper with a 12,000 lb winch, an Iron Man rear bumper, and skid plates all the way back to the gas tank.
• 2007 Land Rover Discovery — the one that started a lot of this. Built for getting off the pavement and finding out what’s past the next ridge.

Past Rigs

• 2017 Kawasaki KLR 650 — bought new for the Trans America Trail when I had no motorcycle, no gear, and no experience.
• 2016 Toyota Tundra CrewMax — the workhorse. Beach runs, overland trails, and hauling everything a campsite needs.
• 2009 Toyota Tundra — the first Tundra, and the start of a long habit.
